About Us

Once Upon a Time, Resumes Were a Real Pain...

Then JobSpice came along in 2009 and things got brighter. Now creating a professional, hassle-free resume in 15 minutes is easy.

History

When we were seniors in college, we wasted tons of time trying to screw with the formatting and spacing of our resumes in Microsoft Word, and we watched our friends do the same. If you've ever tried to design an important document in Word, you can probably relate. So in the summer of 2009, we built JobSpice, an intuitive online tool that makes creating and publishing a well-designed, custom resume easy and fun. JobSpice has been featured on NBC, CBS, PC World, and Fast Company, and has gained tens of thousands of "Word converts" from across the globe.

Our Values

More than anything, we believe in getting back to the basics. We create useful, intuitive web applications that make people's lives better. We pride ourselves on good design, honest pricing, and exceptional customer service. If you like working with companies run by real people, who you can call on the phone whenever you have a question, then look no further. JobSpice was built for you.

Our Founders

Dane Hurtubise is a lover of all things spicy, especially good design and clean code. When he's not working on JobSpice, he loves running, traveling and thinking up new ways to make macaroni and cheese. Our Investors

In 2005, Y Combinator developed a new model of startup funding. Twice a year they invest a small amount of money into a limited amount of startups. The startups move to Silicon Valley for 3 months, during which Y Combinator works intensively with them to get the company into the best possible shape. But YC doesn't end after 3 months, YC and the YC alumni network continue to help founders for the life of their company, and beyond.

JobSpice was founded as a part of the summer 2009 class (YC S09).
